A historical card game, against the restless dead
At its center is a two-player bidding game from the American All Fours family, commonly known in later forms as Setback or Auction Pitch: trump, tricks, and the four points, High, Low, Jack, and Game. Each of the dead remembers one thing, and that memory changes a rule of the table.
Your candle is your life
The Wick is the only health you have, and the cold of the descent burns it lower with every layer. Make a bold wager and your flame can recover; miss it and you are set back, and the dead take the difference. Between hands you draft charms that reshape how you score or answer a curse. Reach the bottom with the candle still lit to continue the story.
A one-time purchase that plays offline
It is a single-player game with no subscription, in-game purchases, advertising, or analytics SDK. Gameplay works offline. When Steam Cloud is enabled, Steam may synchronize your progress between computers. See the privacy policy for details about Steam features.
Designed for gamepads
Every screen supports gamepad input, from the title to bidding and drafting charms, with on-screen button prompts and in-game rebinding. No mouse is required. Native builds are provided for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
